Shabbat Shalom from Jacobs Camp

Shabbat is a magical time all on its own, but I have to say that Shabbat at camp functions on an entirely different level. Yesterday evening marked our first erev Shabbat celebration as a complete camp community. We greeted the Sabbath, and one another, in the emek (valley) by singing songs of welcome and of celebration. And then, in a most powerful of moments, the counselors raised their cabin tallitot (prayer shawls) over the heads of their campers and sang the Priestly Blessing for them.
